November 11, 2015
Tuesday, November 11, 2015 - Regional Opportunities Abound from the Use of Shale Resources
First Energy hosted regional economic development leaders this week to continue to explore the opportunities for our region from the use of natural gas and natural gas liquids from shale development in the tri-state area. Questions addressed included:
How does the economy in southwestern Pennsylania compare to the nation?
What are the region's downstream opportunities for growth as a result of shale?
How can the low energy costs and feedstock attract companies to the region and what types of businesses should be targeted?
How can the regional value proposition and benefits be marketed to prospective customers?
The conference explored regional opportunities for preparedness, planning, and growth in the downstream sector.
